Today in Columbia: Last Chance to Enter 'Deck the House'

Contest entry period closes; government offices closed; stores open and prepared for the post-Christmas rush.

You have until 11:59 p.m. tonight to either enter your decorated house in Patch's Deck the House contest or cast a vote for the entries already submitted.

When the entry period ends tonight, each Patch winner from across the country will create a pool of entries that will be whittled down to 24 finalists.

Then, a national voting period will allow you to participate in choosing the country's best decorated house.

Each finalist will receive $500 to help with December's electric bill.

The grand prize winner's school district will win $100,000.
