'Annual Switching of the Chairs'

The Howard County Council elected officers for the coming year at the beginning of Monday night's legislative meeting.

In what new Chairwoman Mary Kay Sigaty called the "annual switching of the chairs," Calvin Ball moved out of the center seat reserved for the chairman and Sigaty moved into it.

Courtney Watson replaces Jennifer Terrasa as council vice chairwoman.

Teacher Shout-Out:

Wilde Lake Middle School teacher Karen Stiller and Elkridge Landing Middle's Holly Cheung in October were honored with Excellence in Teaching awards from the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

The Howard County Council honored the two educators Monday night and presented them with resolutions recognizing their commitment and dedication to Howard County students.
