Sunday Columbia Townhouse Evacuation Result of Incorrect Report

The residents in the home in question had not been there for several days, police said.

Police said Monday they believe an incorrect report to police led to the mobilization of the department's tactical officers, as well as the evacuation of several residents in a townhouse community on Faulkner Ridge Circle.

According to ABCNews2.com, the tactical teams “surrounded” the home Sunday in response to a call about a domestic dispute.

Police also issued a phone notification to nearby residents, said police spokeswoman Elizabeth Schroen.
