Security Concerns Postpone Howard County Circuit Court Move

Unnamed security concerns mean the court will remain in Ellicott City for now.

Security concerns have put a halt to the temporary relocation of the Howard Count Circuit Court, according to ExploreHoward.com.

The planned relocation, from the mid-19th century building in Ellicott City to the AscendOne building in Columbia, was scheduled to begin Friday, Sept. 2. The new location was expected to be open for business by Sept. 6.

After the move, on the original building that would make it more user-friendly.

Suzanne James, court administrator, told ExploreHoward.com that security concerns, which she would not elaborate on, were a main reason the move was postponed.

A recent was also an issue, as the company is installing the necessary infrastructure for the courts at the AscendOne building.
