Report: Toys ‘R’ Us Sued for Discrimination

A lawsuit says staff at the Columbia store violated the federal Americans With Disabilities Act.

A deaf woman says she applied for a job at the Toys ‘R’ Us store in Columbia, but wasn’t provided an interpreter for a group interview after asking for one, which the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said was illegal, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The commission sued the company recently in U.S. District Court in Baltimore for what it says is violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Sun reported.

The act prohibits discrimination against persons with disabilities seeking employment.
