1. NFL Replacement Referees - Here's what you need to know - a lot of NFL fans are angry about bad calls made by the replacement referees. (the regular referees have been locked out due to contract negotiations) Fans complained about the refs in the Baltimore vs. New England Sunday night game. A coach complained about the refs in the Redskins vs. Bengals game. And the whole country complained about the call that handed the Seattle Seahawks the game over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Key numbers in this fight: Disputed contract amount by regular referees - $3.3 million, NFL annual revenue - $9 billion.

2. Teen Idol Competition audition - Featured Event - Columbia Association's Teen Idol competition kicked off last night at the East Columbia library branch, but it will continue on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Barn in Oakland Mills. 5. Kennedy vs. Nixon - Today in history - On Sept. 26, 1960 John F. Kennedy squared off against vice president Richard Nixon in a presidential debate. In the televised debate, Nixon came off looking unshaved and pale after recovering from the flu, while Kennedy looked young and vibrant (thanks to makeup), according to History.com. The debates were later said to be an important part of Kennedy's victory over Nixon despite his inexperience.
