Post Critic Says Ale House Columbia 'Worth the Trip'

A Washington Post nightlife critic calls the Columbia bar impressive and "a fine showcase for Oliver Ales."

Washington Post nightlife critic Fritz Hahn made the trip up Route 29 to visit Columbia's newest beer bar—Ale House Columbia—last week.

In his review, he described the restaurant which serves beer brewed in Baltimore as "a fine showcase for Oliver Ales, and it's a good place to watch a game with a cold brew in hand."

He called the tap list of more than 20 beers impressive and said coupled with "a taco platter or one of the juicy burgers; it's worth the trip."

The bar, which opened in December, has been popular enough to cause a parking problem in the main the lot, which is shared with other restaurants, a gym and retail stores. It's a problem the Post critic also pointed out.
