Muggy Week Ahead in Columbia

Here's a look at the week's forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

We had a relatively dry weekend in Howard County, but there’s plenty of rain in this week’s forecast, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will reach the 90s at times, assuring some muggy, sluggish days this week.

There’s a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny and temperatures will reach about 90 degrees. Monday night temperatures will drop to the low-70s and there’s a 30 percent chance of rain.

Tuesday also has a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms, mostly after 2 p.m. Otherwise temperatures will reach the low-90s and skies will be mostly cloudy. There’s again a 30 percent chance of rain Tuesday night when temperatures fall to about 70 degrees.

Skies will be partly sunny Wednesday, but there’s a 50 percent chance of rain in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the low-90s during the day, dropping to the mid-70s at night when there’s a 40 percent chance of rain.

There’s  a 50 percent  chance of rain again Thursday. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s during the day, dropping to the high-60s at night when there’s also a 50 percent chance of rain.
