Heat Advisory Issued for Howard County

Officials warn residents to drink water and avoid strenuous activity in the high heat.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory until 8 p.m. for Howard County due to sweltering conditions in the county and around the state.

NWS reported the temperature will sit in the mid to upper 90s throughout the afternoon.

The weather service said to take caution if you work outdoors, avoid strenuous activity and to drink plenty of water.

High temperatures over the past three days have been 95, 94 and 91 degrees. The sweltering heat is expected to continue through Saturday, until showers hit the area on Saturday night.
