Downtown Columbia Development:
The Howard Hughes Corp. will host a pre-submission community meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. to discuss proposed development on two plots of land known as parcels C and D, adjacent to The Mall in Columbia.

Company officials will discuss the project, including the number of units planned; the plan for the road network; and the final development plan and design guidelines for the Warfield neighborhood.
Hughes representatives will present concept plans and other project materials to the community, and allow residents to ask questions and make comments regarding the project.

The meeting will be held in Room 400 of The Rouse Company Foundation Students Services Hall at Howard Community College.
Consumer Advocacy Awards:
The Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition will hold its 11th annual meeting and awards ceremony at 7 p.m. tonight at the Meeting House, 5885 Robert Oliver Place.
The organization will honor four individuals, including U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings and state Delegate Sandy Rosenberg.
Tickets cost $50 and can be ordered on the MCRC website.
Reduced-rate tickets are available for those in financial need.
