Five Things to Know About Columbia 9/27

It's the first full week of fall, Homecoming is here and museum-goers can rejoice.

1) The Weather “ A chance of showers before 11 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Areas of fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 78.  Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.” - From the National Weather Service.

2) It's OK to be a Tourist

Did you know today is World Tourism Day? While it may be too late to pack your bags and set out on a trip-- be a resident tourist in Columbia. Surprisingly, we do have museums in the area (check out Old Ellicott City for the B&O Railroad Museum.) Or take advantage of  Columbia's great location-- visit Baltimore or Washington, D.C., from this halfway point.

3) Hooray for Homecoming!

Time for football games, corsages and embarassing (well-- to look back on at least!) group photos on winding staircases and in the front yard. We had a lot of responses for some Homecoming story ideas, but for now, let us know when your child's or your old high school's Homecoming is so we can add it to our roundup. Extra points if you know the theme.

It's officially the first full week of fall, and leaves are already starting to change color in Columbia. What's your favorite fall activity?
