Columbia Church to Host Cultural Festival

The Orthodox Church of Saint Matthew welcomes you to its annual international celebration this weekend.

This weekend, the Orthodox Church of Saint Matthew welcomes parishioners and community members alike to the fourth annual Saint Matthew Festival in Kings Contrivance.

Since 2008, the festival has been a two-day source of free entertainment for Howard County, featuring dancing, cuisine and goods from countries around the globe. The festivities will reflect the cultures of the parishioners who represent a variety of countries, from Greece to Ethiopia, Lebanon to Russia and everywhere in between.

“My favorite part has always been the food. It’s prepared on site and there is always plenty to go around,” says Andrea Misner, a church volunteer who coordinates advertising for the festival.
