Blandair Park Opens Saturday

Howard County officials will cut the ribbon at Blandair Park in Columbia.

Howard County leaders will unveil the first section of Blandair Park on Saturday morning. "Phase 1" of Blandair Park, on Oakland Mills Road in Columbia, will feature three synthetic-turf fields, bleachers, press boxes, and a playground, according to the Department of Recreation and Parks.

County Executive Ken Ulman will cut the ribbon on the park, along with members of the county council, state deletion and parks department. The celebration will also kick-off the Gary J. Arthur Memorial Lacrosse Tournament.

The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the park, 5750 Oakland Mills Road, and then games will commence for the pre-season lacrosse tournament, named for the late Parks department director, Gary J. Arthur.
