CA board meeting, weather, Orioles and more.

 

1. Weather - 40 percent chance of showers, high of 80, mostly cloudy, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Columbia Association Board Meeting tonight - Highlights include a 2nd reading of the final report of Connecting Columbia (interconnected biking and walking plan), review of the timeline for HOA legislative process, and the first reading of the 50th Birthday celebration. Meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the CA building. Full Agenda here.

3. Baltimore Orioles - The O's beat the Blue Jays last night 12-2 hitting seven home runs in the process, equalling a club record. The win puts them 1.5 games back of the AL East leading Yankees and tied with Oakland at the top of the Wild Card standings. Also, David Simon, creator of The Wire, wrote a cover story for Sports Illustrated this week about the resurgent O's... but what about the jinx, no one actually believes that?

4. Breast Cancer Awareness Month - October is breast cancer awareness month. In honor, Howard County firefighters will wear pink shirts.

5. What I'm Working on Today - Twins and another Columbia man who allegedly broke into and stole computers and other electronics from a number of Howard County school buildings using a stolen master key will have motions hearings at Howard County Circuit Court tomorrow, I'll be following the case. In addition, I'll look into how to keep your house stinkbug free this fall... BECAUSE THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.
