Orioles, more downtown development, weather and more.

 

1. Weather - Chance of showers before 8 a.m., patchy fog before 10 a.m, cloudy throughout the day, but gradually becoming sunny with a high near 70, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Orioles Status - The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 to finish out the season 93-69. The New York Yankees won to clinch the AL East division. The O's will play the Texas Rangers on Friday at 8:37 p.m. in the first wild card game. The Rangers are reeling after losing three straight to the Oakland A's and their lead in the AL West in the process.

4. More Insight into Downtown - At a gathering at Clyde's on Tuesday evening Howard Hughes vice president John DeWolf talked about HH's interest in adding new retail to the ground floor of the American City Building and the Teacher's Building, two buildings that overlook the lakefront in Downtown. With Clyde's seeing a big renovation starting in January and Whole Foods moving into the former Rouse Company building, the lakefront is on its way to being developed.

5. What I'm working on today - I'm looking into how a new law legalizing accepting prizes for fantasy sports in MD may have opened up the possibility for a new form of online sports gambling, in which websites are already making millions of dollars.
