Lakeside Cafe Leaving the Lake Side

The downtown deli and coffee shop plans to re-open at another downtown building in March.

Lakeside Cafe & Deli will leave its location next to Lake Kittamaqundi and move to a different office building at the corner of Little Patuxent Parkway and Broken Land Parkway at the end of the year.

Michael So, Lakeside's owner, will officially close at the end of December to begin the move to 70 Corporate Center, an office building near the mall purchased by Howard Hughes in 2012.

Howard Hughes also owns the American City Building, the current location of Lakeside. So said he did not know Howard Hughes' plan for the lakefront building, but that the company offered the other location near the mall.

"It was very nice to offer us the new location," said So.

He said the plan is to open at 70 Corporate Center in March. The name and phone number of the business will remain the same, according to So.
