Columbia Association (CA) will soon be offering mixed martial arts (MMA) classes, combining various martial arts styles into one complete system of training — a system that also will get students into the best shape of their lives.

CA will be hosting an open house on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. at the Supreme Sports Club Youth Arena, located at 7080 Deepage Drive in Owen Brown. To reserve a space, call 410-381-5355.

Beginning on Feb. 4, classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays. Classes are for all levels; no prior MMA experience is required. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes will go from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Muay Thai runs from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. All classes are held at the Supreme Sports Club Youth Arena. Classes are open to anyone 14 and up. Waivers for those 13 and younger will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The cost for unlimited MMA classes is $125 a month for CA members and $150 a month for non-members. A special introductory price of $99 is available for first-time registrants. Included in that price is a plain white Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi, which is the uniform for those classes. Regular gym attire is allowed at the Open House and at the Muay Thai classes. Groin protection is highly recommended for Muay Thai students. To sign up, go to ColumbiaAssociation.org/login, call 410-381-5355 or visit Supreme Sports Club’s front desk.
