Second Poll Gives Romney Large Lead in MD
Romney nearly doubles Santorum in latest primary poll for Maryland
With tomorrow's primary only a day away, my hopes for a slew of polling for the state of Maryland giving us a look at some of the non-candidates issues seems to have fizzled out. We have one final poll from Public Policy Polling that puts Mitt Romney above 50% in Maryland and well ahead of second-place Rick Santorum.
PRESIDENT – MARYLAND – GOP PRIMARY (PPP)
Mitt Romney 52%
Rick Santorum 27%
Newt Gingrich 10%
Ron Paul 9%
If the race was a little closer here, we may have seen some additional polls that may have given us more questions and results on issues like tuition breaks for illegal immigrants and same-sex marriage that may be the biggest issues on teh November ballot. I think the huge lead for Romney kept some polling organizations from spending money in a state that, based on the limited polls we saw, is just about a foregone conclusion.
