Santorum Slightly Ahead Of Romney in Michigan

A round up of the latest polls from Michigan.

I've taken a little break while the Republican race settles down ahead of this Tuesday's primaries in Michigan and Arizona.

Right after Rick Santorum's wins in Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota, we saw a huge surge towards Santorum.  However, Michigan polls over the past week have definitely seen a surge towards Mitt Romney.  In summary, here is what we have seen lately.

Polling Organization Santorum Romney Paul Gingrich EPIC-MRA 37% 34% 10% 7% Marist College 35% 37% 13% 8% Rasmussen Reports 38% 34% 10% 9% Mitchell/Rosetta Stone 32% 30% 7% 9% We Ask America 29% 29% 12% 10% Public Policy Polling 37% 33% 15% 10%

All the polls above were started after February 17th.  Just by a straight average, we see Santorum averaging just under a 2 percent lead over Romney in a state I believe needs to win. That being said, we still have many more polls to come for the remainder of the week and weekend heading into next week.  Based on past states, I expect all the polling organizations above to release at least one more poll plus other polling organizations like Marketing Resource Group, American Research Group, and Selzer and Company have released Michigan polls in the past and no doubt will be releasing polls before next Tuesday.

Tomorrow, I will do similar post for the state of Arizona which, as you will see, should favor Mitt Romney a little more than the latest polls from Michigan.
