Romney Leads in Arizona Polls Ahead of Tuesday

Mitt Romney was cruising along in Arizona in the polls until a new poll came out yesterday.

We are a mere 27 days away from the first (early) votes being cast here in Maryland for the Republican race and as the battle becomes a two-man race between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, the election might still mean something.

But before we get there, we still have a number of states between now and then and anyone watching a little bit of news knows we have the primary elections in Arizona and Michigan on Tuesday.

I did a post a few days ago looking at the polling in Michigan.  I plan on doing another one for Michigan, but for now, here are the latest numbers we have coming out of Arizona over the past week:

The American Research Group (ARG) is the latest poll out, being released yesterday, and I can tell you this poll has caused some consternation among the Romney backers at my daily website.

ARG tends to release final polls the day before or day of the election, so we will have to see what their final numbers will show and whether they will end up more in line with the others or whether they truly see a trend towards Arizona.

Public Policy Polling is another pollster we will definitely be seeing final numbers from before Tuesday and according to their Twitter feed, they will release their first day results between midnight and 1am in the morning.
