Romney Holds Huge Lead in Maryland
Romney holds a double-digit lead over Santorum in the state of Maryland
As I indicated in about my expectations for the Republican race in Maryland, the first primary poll we have for this Tuesday's primary election shows Mitt Romney with a healthy lead over Rick Santorum. The poll comes from Rasmussen Reports:
PRESIDENT – MARYLAND – GOP PRIMARY (Rasmussen)
Mitt Romney 45%
Rick Santorum 28%
Newt Gingrich 12%
Ron Paul 7%
This poll was done March 28th among 500 likely primary voters with a margin of error of +/-4%.

Part of the reason Romney might be doing so well is that it appears the Romney campaign is the only campaign making an effort here. On Mitt Romney's "Maryland page", he currently is promoting a list of Maryland Women Supporting his campaign as well as a list of his county chairs for all 23 counties (and Baltimore City) in Maryland. By the way, the Chairman of the Romney campaign in Howard County is my fellow Central Committee member Dave Myers.
As a contrast, both Rick Santorum's and Newt Gingrich's "Maryland page" are generic and really just have sign up pages for volunteers.
