How The Local GOP Stands On The Presidential Race

A quick look at how local Howard County Republicans elected officials line up in the Presidential primary.

As the primary in South Carolina is upon us in two days, it is a good idea to see where our local Howard County elected officials currently  line up in their support of the various Republican candidates for President.

State Senator Allan Kittleman (from District 9) and Councilman Greg Fox (Councilmanic District 5) are both declared endorsers of Mitt Romney.  At the Maryland for Romney website, there is a full list of statewide officials and high-profile Republicans who are backing Romney (in full disclosure, I am also a backer of Romney in this primary)

Delegate Gail Bates (from the current 9A district before the recent round of redistricting), back in September, declared her support for Rick Perry.  The Perry campaign also has a list of Maryland legislators and other high profile Republicans who have endorsed his campaign at his website.

Delegate Warren Miller, also (from the current District 9A before the recent round of redistricting), is a declared supporter of Newt Gingrich.  I have been unable to find a similar page on any Newt Gingrich website that lists statewide officials in Maryland who have endorsed Gingrich at this point.  Feel free to add it to the comments if anyone knows of one.

Just a quick look at how some elected Republicans are leaning during this primary race.
