Columbia Association Surveying Community Members to Help It Serve Older Adults

Columbia Association (CA) will be gathering input from the community for its Comprehensive Plan for Serving the Older Adult Community and has contracted with the Mason-Dixon Polling & Research to conduct a telephone survey of adults 45 years and older.

“We encourage anyone who is randomly picked to be called to take and complete the survey,” said Rob Goldman, chief operating officer and vice president for CA. Goldman is chairman of the work team that is developing the plan. “It’s really important that we get good, quantifiable data to understand what older adults in our community want and need as they age. This will help CA to provide and advocate for the programs and services that will best serve them now and into the future.”

The telephone surveys will contact residents on landlines and cellphones and will start in the second half of September. The questions will cover topics such as physical activity and exercise, transportation, social and cultural activities, aging in place and services for older adults.
