Columbia Art Center hosting Ghanaian art exhibit from May 8 through May 18, opening reception on May 10

Columbia Association (CA) is proud to present “The Art of Ghana: A Contemporary and Traditional Exhibition,” which will be hosted at the Columbia Art Center from Thursday, May 8 through Sunday, May 18.

An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Saturday, May 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Art Center, which is located at 6100 Foreland Garth in the Long Reach Village Center. Guests are invited to speak with the artists and to enjoy a fun afternoon of Ghanaian art, music and finger foods. African dress is encouraged.

The exhibition will introduce our community to Ghanaian artists and artwork in celebration of Columbia’s new sister city, Tema. Artwork will include paintings, sculptures, photography, textiles and jewelry. Tema, a planned city of more than 160,000 people on the coast of Ghana, is located just east of the country’s capital, Accra. It is Columbia’s third sister city.
