Auditions Open for 11th Annual Hear My Voice Teen Idol Competition

The road to crowning this year’s Teen Idol starts next week with the beginning of Columbia Association’s (CA) 11th annual Hear My Voice Teen Idol Competition.

The first audition will be held Monday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. at The School of Rock, which is located at 6935 Oakland Mills Road, Suite N. Subsequent auditions will be held:

  • Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at The Barn, located at 5853 Robert Oliver Place in the Oakland Mills Village Center

  • Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at Claret Hall, located at 6020 Daybreak Circle in the River Hill Village Center in Clarksville

  • Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at Lord & Taylor in The Mall in Columbia, located at 10300 Little Patuxent Parkway

    The competition is open to youth from sixth grade through 12th grade. No music is necessary for the auditions. Explicit lyrics are not allowed. Though registration is not required, participants can register for an audition by calling 410-992-3726.

    Semifinalists will then perform on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at Slayton House, located at 10400 Cross Fox Lane in the Wilde Lake Village Center. The best of the best will then advance to a performance on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. at the Downtown Columbia Lakefront.

    The grand prize winner will receive $500, and a People’s Choice Award winner will also be selected by the crowd. All Teen Idol finalists must agree to participate in the Hear My Voice community service project organized by CA’s Youth and Teen Center at The Barn.
