TRICOLUMBIA APPOINTS SENIOR RACE DIRECTOR, DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS and DIRECTOR OF VIP, PRO & HOSPITALITY SERVICES

Brian Lausch, Christine Kirkley and Krista Baker-Scheyer bring decades of experience and expertise to the Mid-Atlantic’s premier endurance event production company 

Columbia, Md. – TriColumbia, the Mid-Atlantic’s premier endurance event production company, today announced it has expanded its executive team with the appointment of three new members, Brian Lausch as Senior Race Director, Christine Kirkley as Director of Strategic Partnerships, and Krista Baker-Scheyer as Director of VIP, Pro & Hospitality Services.

Brian Lausch brings 20 years of project management experience and six years of race directing experience to the TriColumbia team. In his role as Senior Race Director, Lausch will work alongside the Executive Director to develop a vision and strategic plan to guide the growth of TriColumbia while managing the operational requirements of existing TriColumbia endurance events to the highest caliber. Lausch brings strong management skills working for and with brands such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, Sprint, and WeatherBug. In 2008, Lausch co-founded the first youth focused USA Triathlon Club in Maryland, played an instrumental role in developing and launching the Maryland Youth Triathlon Series in 2011, and volunteers at a regional level with the USA Triathlon Mid-Atlantic Region Council to identify and support youth and junior initiatives throughout the region.

As Director of Strategic Partnerships, Christine Kirkley will develop TriColumbia’s strategic plan to attract and maintain corporate sponsors, including sponsorship gifts, cash sponsorships and in-kind sponsorships. Kirkley is also responsible for the acquisition of new sponsors and business partnerships; research and identification of sponsorship and vendor prospects; cultivation and relationship management for TriColumbia’s portfolio of contacts; and identifying prospects and implementing programs aimed at securing strategic partners. Kirkley brings more than 10 years of philanthropic and fundraising experience from her work as Executive Director of the Brigance Brigade Foundation and Director of Fundraising and Community Relations for the ALS Association, DC/MD/VA Chapter.

As Director of VIP, Pro & Hospitality Services, Krista Baker-Scheyer’s ultimate goal is bring attention to TriColumbia’s events within the triathlon community. Baker-Scheyer will focus on recruiting top level VIP’s and professional triathletes to participate in TriColumbia events; boost the exposure of the event; bring excitement to the age group athletes; and increase media exposure and sponsorship. Additionally, she will assist all VIP and Professional athletes during their stay at race venues, as well as schedule selected VIP’s and professionals for pre-race interviews and videos, promotions, press conferences and post-race interviews and videos. Prior to joining the TriColumbia team, Baker-Scheyer co-founded RaceQuest Travel, where she delivered exceptional travel, training camp and race week services tailored specifically to the needs of busy triathletes and their families.
