Owners of Columbia Mall Pledge to Ensure Safety in Wake of Shooting
A full-page newspaper ad included a letter from the CEO calling the Mall in Columbia a "gathering place that represents family and togetherness."
A full-page ad in the Baltimore Sun by General Growth Properties Inc., the owner of the Mall in Columbia, included a pledge to continue to "ensure the safety and well-being of our shoppers, retailers and employees."
The ad Monday came after a deadly weekend in which three people died in a mall shooting that garnered national attention as one in a spate of mass shootings nationally.
The ad, which was essentially a public letter from the company's CEO, said:
