Nordstrom Rack to Open Columbia Location

The discount division of the well-known department store will open at Columbia Crossing.

 

Nordstrom announced Monday it would be opening a Nordstrom Rack location at Columbia Crossing near Snowden River Parkway.

The approximately 40,750 square-foot store is scheduled to open in the spring of 2013, according to a press release.

Nordstrom Rack offers brands carried in Nordstrom stores, but typically at prices 30 to 70 percent off, according to the company.

"We're fortunate to have lots of customers living in Maryland and hope this new store will make it more convenient for our Columbia customers to shop both our full-line and Rack locations," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, in a statement.

Columbia Crossing, which has stores such as Pier 1 Imports, Target and Sleepy's is owned by Kimco Realty.

"Our shoppers are always very excited when we add this upscale fashion retailer to the tenant mix at our centers, and we expect our tenth location with Nordstrom to be no exception," said Michael Pappagallo, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Kimco, in a statement.

Nordstrom also operates a department store at the Mall in Columbia.
