Ellicott City Sears to Close

Sears Holding Corp. will close the store at an undetermined date.

Sears Holding Corp. announced today the locations of 79 of the stores it plans to close after low holiday sales.

Among those on the list is the at 7200 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City. So far, it is the only Maryland store slated to be closed.

, Sears Holding Corp. said that between 100 and 120 "marginally performing" Sears and Kmart stores would be closed for an estimated savings of $140 - $170 million.

Speaking of Home Goods, am I right that there's no T.J. Maxx in Ellicott City? How can that be true?

Yes, there used to be a K-Mart and Caldor - part of Chatham Mall. That was before Home Depot came in.
