Dunkin' Donuts announced Thursday a sweet deal for National Donut Day, celebrated this year on Friday, June 6.

On June 6, participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations nationwide will offer customers a free donut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage.

Also included in Thursday's announcement was the unveiling the business' new Blueberry Cobbler Donut. The Blueberry Cobbler Donut is available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide beginning June 2.

National Donut Day, celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.

According to John Costello, President, Global Marketing and Innovation at Dunkin’ Brands, the holiday provides a perfect opportunity to celebrate the delight donuts bring to people all around the world.

“As the country’s donut leader, each and every day we see the unique way donuts can create smiles and make any moment a little happier and a little sweeter. We are proud to help people celebrate and enjoy National Donut Day with a free donut at Dunkin’ Donuts with the purchase of any beverage,” he said.
