Meachum declined to comment further due to the ongoing investigation.

According to the article, police said they carried out a search warrant at the offices on Rumsey Road, but no charges have been filed.

Police have not immediately responded to further requests for more information on the investigation.

The Columbia Housing Corporation was founded in 1967 by a group of religious organizations, but later taken over by Howard County community representatives in 1978, according to their website. Their website lists their mission as, "To be the premier non-profit agency in Howard County providing safe, high quality, affordable rental housing to low- and moderate-income families, individuals, senior citizens, and for those who are physically and mentally challenged."

The nonprofit's website notes they manage 431 rental housing units in Howard County, including Community Homes, a 300-unit development built in 1969 on five sites in Harper's Choice and Wilde Lake.
