Columbia Cookie Challenge, Day 3: Great American Cookies

Our judges turn their taste buds to The Mall in Columbia.

We're David Greisman and Lisa Rossi, Patch editors who work "in the field" each day all around Columbia, eating cookies along the way to fuel our efforts at journalistic muckraking.

At this point, after covering everything in our part of Howard County from crime and catastrophe to cute and cuddly—fueled by coffee and, well, you know—we think we know what we're talking about.

Throughout the week, we'll give you our review of a selection of sweets from seven spots. Today: Great American Cookies, found near the food court in The Mall in Columbia.

Chocolate chip cookie ($1.49, small/medium)

Lisa: "That's intense. Didn't someone recommend this on Twitter? This could become an addiction. I'm in trouble. (She takes another bite) Oh my God. It's so good."

David: "Crunchy around the edges, soft in the middle, very squishy and sweet. I could get in trouble with a handful of these. I might've just done that anyway."

Double fudge cookie ($1.49, small/medium)

David: "Crunchy edges, gooey center. The sweetness really kicks in around the third or fourth chew, and the fudge taste jumps around your mouth just before the end."

Lisa: "It's as close to perfect as any cookie could be. Oh my God, I can't stop eating it. Mmm! So good! I guess I won't be sharing that one with you..."
