Anthropologie, 3 Other Businesses Coming to Columbia Mall

The shops will be part of the open-air plaza at The Mall in Columbia.

Representatives from the Mall in Columbia announced that two women's fashion retailers and two restaurants will open soon at its new open-air plaza.

Talbots and Anthropologie will open this summer.

  • Talbots, which has more than 500 stores offering classic women's apparel and accessories, will move into a 10,890-square-foot space.
  • Anthropologie will feature clothing, accessories and home decor in a 9,142-square-foot store, adding Columbia to its 175 Anthropologie shops in the U.S., United Kingdom and Canada.
In addition, two restaurants—Maggiano’s Little Italy and Seasons 52—will face one another in the outdoor plaza.
  • Maggiano’s will open in June. It offers Italian-American cuisine, available family-style or as individual entrees, as well as a list of wines that includes its own label. The restaurant will be in 8,254 square feet next to Bank of America. The only other Maggiano's in Maryland is in Annapolis.
  • Seasons 52, a fresh grill and wine bar, will be across from Maggiano's. It also has one restaurant in Maryland, in North Bethesda. Its menu reflects the seasons and changes accordingly.

Since the start of the expansion at the Columbia mall, eight retailers have opened in its open-air plaza: Arhaus, Athleta, lululemon athletica, Secolari, Soma Intimates, True Religion, Zoe's Kitchen and a first-to-market AT&T Mobility concept store.

The mall expansion project is one of the first to break ground as part of the recently approved master plan for downtown Columbia, according to a statement from mall representatives. The master plan calls for 13 million square feet of retail, commercial, residential, hotel and cultural development over 30 years, the statement said. Groundbreaking for the mall project was in 2013.
