A new repair business is entering the Columbia market with the mindset of becoming the top appliance repair company in the area. They are the Appliance Guys, a small business run by a husband and wife team.

She said her husband, Steve Lebow, who has 25 years of experience fixing home appliances, founded the business four and a half years ago.

Since then, the company has been successful growing the business in Annapolis. On Wednesday, the Lebows announced they would begin to take customers in the Columbia area.

Lebow said potential customers in Columbia would be people with expensive appliances for which repair makes more sense than purchasing a new one.

Lebow said the company has been successful by offering responsive and polite service, as well as significant expertise.

“We fix pretty much any major appliance in a home—washer, dryer, dishwasher, ranges, wall ovens, garbage disposals, trash compactors,” said Lebow. “We work on pretty much any brand out there and every brand is different.”

Lebow said the company wouldn’t hesitate to tell someone if their appliance is not worth fixing.

“We’re very honest,” said Lebow. “We’ll tell you if you should just buy a new machine. We want loyal customers who will call us when something else breaks.”

Appliance Guys charges between $79-$129 for a repair estimate and repair costs are determined on a case-by-case basis.
