Help Students with Tuition and Watch Horse Jumping
Howard Community College will host its 25th annual equestrian show on Saturday to help raise scholarship funds.
In nearby Clarksville this weekend, capitalize on the opportunity to watch professional horse jumping and help students pay for tuition.
The 25th annual Howard Community College Grand Prix will feature professional riders navigating a show jumping course for prize money. But in addition, proceeds will be used to provide scholarships to HCC students.

"The goal of the Howard Community College Grand Prix continues to be to close the gap between scholarship dollars available and the unmet need for financial aid," wrote HCC in a press statement.
The event will take place Saturday, September 22 at Marama Farm, 5610 Chamblis Drive in Clarksville from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Besides the equestrian action, the event will feature vendors, games, food and music on the 100 acre farm.

Since 1988, the event has raised $2.7 million for scholarships, according to HCC.
About 43 percent of all HCC students receive some form of financial aid totaling more than $20.7 million.
Tickets for the event are as follows:
- General admission lawn seating - $10 (children 10 & under free)
- Gradstand Seating - $15 (children 10 & under $8)
- Box Seating (ring-side covered seating for six) - $250
