4,000 Pounds of Wegmans Soup Recalled

The company that produced the soup for Wegmans said people found plastic bits in it.

Blount Fine Foods, of Fall River, MA, is recalling 4,000 pounds of soup products that it created for Wegmans after customers reported finding bits of plastic in the soups, according to Wegmans.

The following soups are being recalled:

  • Wegmans Gazpacho, 16oz, with a use by date of 9/2/12
  • Wegmans Soup, Chicken & Dumpling, 16oz, with a use by date of 8/24/12
  • Wegmans Soup, Italian Style Wedding with Meatballs, 16oz with a use by date of 9/3/12
  • Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Soup, Tomato Basil with Orzo, 16oz, with a use by date of 9/3/12
  • Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Soup, Caribbean Black Bean, 16oz, with a use by date of 9/3/12
  • Wegmans Lobster Bisque 16oz, with a use by date of 9/3/12

The grocery store will provide a full refund to customers who return the soup. Wegmans, which is headquartered in Rochester, NY, opened a store in Columbia on June 17.
