Here is what your elementary and middle school student will need for the first day of school in Howard County.

As your children rummage through the back-to-school shopping aisle, searching for the most colorful folders and backpacks featuring their favorite superheroes, make sure they grab supplies required by the Howard County Public School System.

Although HCPSS does not have a definitive list online, several schools have compiled their own. Here is a list of recommended elementary school supplies, courtesy of Guilford Elementary School:
