Warped Tour at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Tuesday

The concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion draws more than 10,000 people each summer.

Traffic around Merriweather Post Pavilion was a doozy Tuesday before noon due to a large music festival.

Tickets sold out for the Vans Warped Tour, a daylong event featuring electronic, punk, ska, emo, alternative, hip-hop and other types of musicians.

Approximately 18,000 fans have attended in recent years at the concert venue in Columbia.

This year, dozens of artists are slated to perform, including Crown the Empire and We the Kings.

Doors at Merriweather opened at 11 a.m.

Due to the concert, drivers experienced congestion on US Route 29, Little Patuxent Parkway and Broken Land Parkway around 10:30 a.m., according to WTOP. Backups remained until after noon, WNEW reported. By 1 p.m., traffic had reportedly calmed.

The show is scheduled to last until 9 p.m., according to Vans Warped Tour.
