Underage Drinking in Spotlight at Howard County Student Film Festival

The festival is to be held Friday March, 22.

Want to know what high school students think about underage drinking?

You can have your chance at the Howard County Student Film Festival, scheduled for Friday March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab Kossiakoff Center, 11100 Johns Hopkins Road in Laurel.

This year, the Howard County Student Film Festival is teaming up with HC Drug Free, an organization in Howard County that promotes an alcohol and drug-free environment for youth.

As a result, the festival has a new public service announcement category. Participants in that category are asked to create a 30 to 90 second public service announcement focused on underage drinking.

Filmmakers in all categories must be Howard County high school students.

An ice cream social is to follow Friday’s festival.
