TV host Ellen DeGeneres quintupled the cash an Ellicott City family won playing a game on Tuesday's "Ellen Show."
The Hamilton family played the show's "Cash at Your Door" game with a producer, who showed up in Maryland, reports WBAL TV.
Tina Hamilton, a hospital worker; her husband, William, a disabled veteran; and their kids, Destiny and Darius, all took part in the challenge.
"We were playing Uno, and the next thing you know, a producer called, and it was really Ellen. That's all I can remember," Tina Hamilton told the TV station.
The family was put through a game of questions, winning $4,000 – or so they thought.
"I was going to double it, but let's just round it up to $20,000," Ellen said on the show.
The Hamiltons said the windfall came at the perfect time, since they need to furnish their home.
Some of the money will go toward their daughter's college tuition.
