The 2008 drama, directed by Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, tells the tragic story of a platoon of child soldiers serving during the Second Liberian Civil War. As the platoon marches toward the Liberian capital of Monrovia, they commit acts of rape and destruction, with seemingly little regard for human life — including their own.

A panel discussion with human rights professionals follows both screenings. HCC student Samuel Sherman, who worked as assistant director on the film, will also serve on the panel.

Admission to the event is free, but a $5 donation is suggested. All proceeds go towards the Johnny Mad Dog Foundation, non-profit organization that raises funds to provide support for the former child soldiers who appear in the film. Fair trade goods from SERRV will also be available for sale at both screenings, with a percentage of sales going to support the foundation.

NOTE: This film is graphic and violent in nature. Viewer discretion is advised.
