Walking Bridge in Columbia to Be Replaced Tuesday

The Columbia Association is handling the project.

Those planning a walk near Dickinson Park in Columbia on Tuesday may want to take an alternate route if they were planning to use a certain bridge.

The bridge between Red Cravat Court and Water Lily Way will be replaced by the Columbia Association on July 1, weather-permitting.

The 27-year-old bridge is too low for crossing the stream, which has become filled with silt over the years, according to the Columbia Association.

Crews will take out the old bridge and install a new one, according to the association. The structure will be out of service until approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday, when the project—weather-permitting—is anticipated to be complete.
