Thunderstorms, Tornadoes Possible in 8 Maryland Counties

Carroll, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's are among those under a tornado watch.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for eight counties in Maryland Wednesday afternoon, effective until 9 p.m.

Allegany, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's and Washington counties are under the watch, which means conditions are favorable for the creation of tornadoes.

The most likely time for severe weather such as cloud-to-ground lightning, damaging winds and large hail is between 4 and 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The Maryland Emergency Management Agency suggested charging devices.
