Speed Humps Being Installed on Thunder Hill Road

Traffic calming measures will be installed north and south of MD 175 on Thunder Hill Road in Columbia.

Howard County is installing nine speed humps along Thunder Hill Road in Columbia.

Three speed humps will be installed south on MD 175 and the other six will be installed north of 175.

The $60,000 project is expected to be completed by early December. Construction north of 175 is almost complete, according to Buck Bohmer, a project manager for Howard County Public Works.

The speed hump project was first proposed by neighborhood residents earlier this year who said speeding vehicles were a problem in the area.
