Howard High School students or workers around Centre Park Drive near the Ellicott City/ Columbia line have a new sandwich shop to satiate their afternoon hunger pangs.
Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches, a nationwide chain sandwich shop founded in 1983, recently opened their second franchise in Columbia at 8827 Centre Park Drive on Dec. 18.
"We serve up cold sandwiches freaky fast, and offer delivery to our immediate neighbors within about a mile and a half radius," wrote franchise owner Ted Louis in an email. "Our minimum order for delivery is just one sandwich. We specialize in last minute catering orders."
Sandwiches include the Pepe (applewood smoked ham and provolone cheese), Big John (shaved roast beef with mayo, lettuce and tomato) and the Vito (Italian sub).
The Centre Park location is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. It is the second Jimmy John's franchise that Louis has opened in Columbia. The other Jimmy John's is located at 6191 Old Dobbin Lane, it opened in 2007.
