Round Up: Family Fun Events in Howard County This Weekend

Here are some fun things to do around town with the family this weekend.


Where/When:    9325 Snowden River Pkwy, Columbia, MD, Saturday, June 9, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Lincoln College of Technology in Columbia, MD is hosting their Annual Car Show.

There will be a DJ playing your favorite tunes from 10am-2pm, a live AutoCross course presented by the Corvette Club, a 50/50 raffle to benefit The Rising Hope Foundation, as well as delicious food, drinks and baked goods available for purchase from Lincoln Culinary Institute.

Where/When:  Howard County Library East Columbia Branch, 6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD, Saturday, June 9, 2012, 8:00 a.m.

Why to go:  Lace up your sneakers and bring your family, friends, and neighbors to the 5K and Family Fun Run benefiting the Library. The course begins and ends at East Columbia Branch.

Participants may register the morning of the event from 6:30 a.m. through 7:45 a.m.

Pricing: Adults: $30.00 / Children 10 and under: $15.00

 

Where/When:    8510 High Ridge RD, Ellicott City, Maryland 21043, Friday, June 8, 8:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Pack a picnic and come to the Patapsco Female Institute in historic Ellicott City for an evening of theater under the stars.  The Chesapeake Shakespeare Company will present: Romeo and Juliet.

Be sure to arrive early to enjoy the Show before the show to play games, see costumes, stage combat, dancing and much more.

Where/When: 14800 Carrs Mill Road, Woodbine, MD 21738, 6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.

Why to go:  Overnight fun filled event to celebrate and remember all those touched by cancer. Open to the public from 5:00 pm until 11pm. All fundraising proceeds directly benefit your American Cancer Society.

Where/When:    Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament, 7000 Arundel Mills Circle Hanover, MD 21076

Why to go:  Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, North America’s longest running dinner attraction, invites guests to travel back to the 11th Century with the premiere of a new show.

The new live performance will give our guests a one-of-a-kind experience that will keep first-time visitors and returning fans on the edge of their seats. While the show offers many new elements, some of the most popular traditions remain.

The live show will still feature two- and four-legged performers with a utensil-free meal serviced in a castle-inspired arena.
