The Columbia (MD) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will sponsor a Teen Summit on Sept. 29 in Columbia to address topics aimed at putting teenagers on a path to success.


College and career preparedness, conflict avoidance and social media responsibility will be discussed during the summit, scheduled from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Teen Center at The Barn, 5853 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, MD, 21045.

The summit is free and will provide teens with strategies and tactics to succeed in college and the working world; avoid conflicts that could harm them; and navigate social media sites.


Program speakers include Baltimore radio personalities Konan and Angel Baby (Rap Attack) from 92QJAMS, a conflict resolution specialist and current college students, who will engage with the teens. Continental breakfast will be served, and give-a-ways and a step show will also be included at the summit. About CAC-DST:  The Columbia (MD) Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (http://www.colmddst.org/) was chartered in 1971, just four years after the new town of Columbia was established in Howard County, Maryland. The Columbia chapter was the first African-American Greek organization to start a chapter in Howard County and has grown to one of the largest Delta chapters in the nation with more than 200 chapter members.
