Columbia Caption Contest: What Are They Discussing?
The statues of James W. Rouse, the developer of Columbia, and his brother Willard have been located at the Columbia Lakefront since 2002.
With the weather warming up, a visit to the Columbia lakefront is highly recommended. But while you're down there don't forget to check out the statues of James W. Rouse, the developer of Columbia, and his brother Willard. The two bronze statues were created by Baltimore Sculptor William Duffy in 1986, according to the Balitmore Sun.
Rouse origininally commissioned the statues for the grounds of the Rouse Company's Symphony Woods Office Center, but they were later purchased for $10,000 by the Columbia Association in 2000 and moved to the lakefront in 2002, according to the Sun.
