Bridge Repairs to Restrict Traffic in Howard, Montgomery Counties

A bridge over the Patuxent River is due for repairs, the State Highway Administration said.

Road crews will be repairing part of the bridge over the Patuxent River at the Howard-Montgomery County line this weekend, so drivers should anticipate new traffic patterns, officials said.

MD Route 108, also known as Clarksville Pike and Ashton Road, will be reduced to a single lane east of Olney from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, according to the State Highway Administration.

Crews will be repairing a concrete bridge wall the encloses the space between the road and the arch of the bridge, according to a statement from highway officials.

One side of the wall was repaired the weekend of Jan. 30 and this will take care of the other side, the statement said, if weather conditions permit.

The State Highway Administration offered these tips to drivers, who are asked to modify their driving behavior for safety in the work zones:
