Maryland Search & Rescue OPEN HOUSE

September 23, 2013, 7:00pm-9:30pm
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church
12430 Scaggsville Road, (Rt. 216) Highland, Maryland.

Here’s your chance to help save lives! Learn what it takes to become a part of a search & rescue team.

We are actively recruiting youth and adults for both organizations.

The Venture Crew is a co-ed program. To join, you must be at least 13 years old and have completed the 8th grade or be 14 years old. Venture Crew youth are also members of Maryland Search & Rescue.

Maryland Search & Rescue trains and deploys volunteers in a 4-state area (Md., Va., W.Va. & Pa.) to participate in wilderness lost-person searches.

Meetings and training sessions are conducted Monday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm.  There is usually one weekend training per month. Training can be rigorous but if you enjoy the outdoors, like to challenge yourself and give back to the community, this might just be the thing for you.

Hope to see you Monday night,
